EBAY QUESTION! Help please!?
I was on eBay and found this written at the bottom of a Gucci auction.
It said:
By law, we must MAKE YOU AWARE that we are not an authorized GUCCI® dealer or representative. GUCCI® is a registered trademark. This auction is not affiliated with or endorsed by GUCCI® in anyway. As such no warranties are expressed or implied. All references to GUCCI® are for identification and descriptive purposes only. GUCCI® is a registered trademark of their respective company. The use of any trademark, brand name, logo, or product name in our auctions is not intended to suggest that the company, trademark, or brand is affiliated or endorses these auctions.

What does this mean? Be specific! Please help!

So if you bought a fake and the seller said all this before the buyer bought it, can you can file a dispute??
PLEASE ANSWER THIS!
thanks so much.

If you were to buy this item to see if it is real or not, and later on you find it is not real you can report them to ebay and paypal. Ebay does not allow the sell of counterfeit items no matter what you say in your description.

Probably just to let you know that the products they are selling are not authentic Gucci items, i.e. they are copies or fake Gucci's

Chris P
It means "Gucci" is not affiliated with the seller, in no way. If the product turns out to be fake, you can still file a dispute with ebay and Gucci. Selling fake products, and using a registered trademark without consent is illegal.

Good lord. It means

1) they're not part of Gucci

2) what they're selling is FAKE

Otto
You would not have any recourse to file a dispute. The item is not listed as being authentic or genuine.

tnt82am
It basically means that GUCCI has not backed them. They are selling it on their own. Just in case they have not cited something correctly they are legally covering their own behind. Also it may mean that it is fake.

that gucci is not selling the item!

bearbear
it pretty much means it comes from a fake store, and the product is fake!

arlene k
It means that GUCCI authorizes its dealers to guarantee that what is being sold is real GUCCI product. Since this auction is not authorized, the product may be a knock-off.

mutant_blonde
It means Gucci the company is not selling this property. Someone personally is selling the item for profit.

? Stranger ¿ in Indiana
It means that Gucci doesn't support there auctions, they are just selling a gucci item, and they are not and authorized gucci dealer, like, it's just THERE gucci stuff and they want to sell it, not like gucci distributes it to them to sell it for gucci. This means it may or may not be a real gucci prduct. and by "All references to GUCCI® are for identification and descriptive purposes only" they just mean they are not stealing or using the trademark in a bad way, just to explain what you are bidding on.
I hope i help. If you think you are bidding on a gucci knockoff, usually ebay has a written thing up showing the differences between fake and real. (i know they have a juicy couture one, anyways.)
