Don't buy any rubbish. Only buy those things which are cheap and you really need.
Don't draw more than you need from the bank.
Put less than you need in your purse.

a great way is get one of those massive metal change boxes that you cant get into and everyday empty all your change into it that way you cant get to it unless you cut it open- you will just have to be strong and not open it.
also you could open up another bank account and put a fraction of your wage in it every week and dont touch that account.- its tempting so mabey you could leave the card with a family member and tell them not to give it to you.

also dont spend as much and buy the needs not the wants.

these are short term things.

if you want a long term over years then id suggest saving money and putting it a fix term at the bank.
or more risky invest in the stock market.
you can also invest in property.

Makeing the decision to save money and not spend it is the most important thing, you have to get that in your head b4 it will acctualy work,
once that is done then u can open a savings account, shop around for the one that you think is the best deal, I have a free savings acct, ( they dont charge me monthly to have it) the acctualy give ME intrest each month, my rate is 2% anualy
so on every 100$ in geting 2$ a year from them.... that adds up .. if I have 1000$ in the bank that means an extra 20$ a year for doing nothing.....
once u get alil money . make an investment such as realestate thats uslay a safe bet. you may have to sit on it a wile, but it always goes back up

Best way to save money is to make a resolution about spending. If you resolve that 'I will not spend more than xxxx amt.' you have achieved it. Because then you will yourself learn to make your budget to spend only within the amount of money you get minus savings planned. It is likely that you will have to change your priorities or change habits or reduce expenses on some items buy some items of a lower quality and so on.Main difficulty faced by all is sudden expenses not planned. But once you have idea about such expenses, you will also plan that accordingly. "Nothing is inevitable than savings."

The best way to save money is give it to someone whom you can never take it back even you want as if BANK and say them that you want to put your money in annual interest for the bank and in this case , you can both save money and have the interest of bank in your account..

Dont spend it and start a saving awards account if you dont tuch it for say 12 mounts you will earn a higher interest rate so there for you save more. Most banks offer some sort of account like this even if you put $5-10 a week it will add up.

sell books on amazon.com or ebay.
join a paid surveys site, I have a great blog on those at http://extraquickmoney.blogspot.com
sell you clothes to a consignment shop.

take the money you make from those things and put it a savings account.

I have another idea. I used to save money using an easy start certificate. I don't know if your bank has that kind of account, but my bank, Navy Federal Credit Union, has it. I'm sure that you can sign up with them.

The way it works with the easy start certificate is that you put a certain amount of money in that account thru direct deposit and you cannot access it for a whole year. You can't even access it with an ATM card. After a year, it automatically rolls over to another year.

don't spend it is the best answer, but there is more you can do, you can invest it so it makes more money for you, there are different ways to do this, some people play it safe with a 401k at work, or low interest secured CD's. There is options to saving money.

When you get paid-----PAY YOURSELF FIRST!

Save any amount----$25 is a nice start---EVERY TIME YOU GET PAID---or have it taken out of your check before you even get it--what you don't have in your hand you won't miss.

Then don't touch it--------
